Other users report that even the ability to mount the cards is inconsistent and cannot even be traced across manufacturers or models. For example, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2021\/12\/06\/macbook-pro-sd-card-issue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MacRumors forum<\/a> as well as on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/macbookpro\/comments\/r7aja6\/sd_card_slot_14_m1_pro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Reddit<\/a> reported this. However, there doesn&#039;t seem to be a reason why some SD cards don&#039;t work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-macbook-pro-2021-ein-muster-ist-nicht-zu-erkennen\">MacBook Pro 2021: No pattern can be seen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>A forum participant named wilberforce noted that he could not find a pattern in terms of brand, size, type, format, or age. He also stated that he was able to access 100% of the cards using a third-party external card reader. Another user reports that it can take up to a minute for the device to successfully mount an SD card. Since Apple has not yet commented on the issue, it remains unknown what the cause could be. However, it is assumed that the bug can be fixed with a macOS update.
