As part of its goal to become 100% carbon neutral by 2030, Apple today announced that the number of suppliers committed to using only clean energy has more than doubled in the past year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple today announced that the number of suppliers committed to using 100 percent clean energy has more than doubled in the past year, accelerating the company's progress toward its ambitious 2030 goal of net-zero carbon across its supply chain and products. In total, 175 Apple suppliers will transition to renewable energy, and the company and its suppliers will bring more than 9 gigawatts of clean energy online worldwide. Apple says it has added 10 new projects to its "Power for Impact" initiative, which it says will bring "clean energy solutions to communities around the world" by bringing renewable energy to underserved communities. The new projects are located in numerous countries, including the United States, South Africa, the Philippines, Colombia and Israel. CEO Tim Cook said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple reiterated its pledge to make its entire product range carbon neutral by 2030, saying the company has reduced its carbon emissions by 40 percent in the last five years alone.
