The iPhone 5 was introduced by Phil Schiller during a keynote speech on September 12, 2012. It was available in black and white with 16, 32 or 64 GB.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Apple has officially stopped supporting the popular iPhone with a 4\u2033 display. Since October 30, 2018, it has been on the \u201cvintage\u201d list in the USA. The iPhone 5 is therefore considered \u201cobsolete\u201d or \u201cdiscontinued\u201d.<\/p>\n

What does this mean for users?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This means that users can no longer get repairs from Apple or authorized service providers. In the event of a problem, they have to resort to independent service providers. Apart from a few exceptions, Apple's rule of thumb is to produce spare parts for devices for five years - but this period only starts when production of the respective device is discontinued. Only then is the customer forced to look for spare parts elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n
