This issue was reported in 2016 and Apple stated that it is "actively working to resolve this issue" by "identifying and blocking suspicious senders." Victims are targeted in a variety of ways. The most common method is to receive a regular iCloud calendar invitation through the Calendar app. Interacting with the invitation, including declining, accepting, or selecting "Maybe," lets the spammer know that the email address is valid, so it can still be targeted. Other users are targeted via web pop-ups to potentially malicious or adult websites. Apple has not publicly commented on what specific actions it has taken to resolve the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One measure that some users have found helpful is redirecting calendar invitations to their email rather than an in-app calendar invite. Redirecting invitations to their email address allows users to more easily manage and delete calendar invitations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
