With iOS 15, users can finally tag specific subjects in Photos to suggest them less frequently in reminders, widgets, and more. The feature is one of many new features coming to Apple's Photos app this fall.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Option<\/a> is already available in the first beta version of the new operating system. Tapping the options icon (a circle with three dots in it) on a featured image or collection of images will bring up a new "Recommend Less" action. Once confirmed, Photos will remove the image from the areas where it is currently featured. Photos will also use the data that prompted the system to feature the image to stop highlighting that subject. For example, if an image is featured because of a specific date, Photos will learn to stop highlighting images from that date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This also works for people identified in images, as well as places and holidays. If users ask Photos to de-feature an image, it won't be removed from the All Photos section in the library. Instead, users can expect the collection to no longer appear prominently in the Photos app. This includes the Library sections, the Photos widget, Memories, and the Featured Photos section. There's no way yet to undo individual decisions, such as showing a particular subject less often in Photos.
