Before WWDC, there were rumors, mainly driven by leaker Jon Prosser, that Apple would announce redesigned 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models during the keynote. However, these rumors have not come to fruition.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contrary to what Prosser and a handful of analysts claimed, this year's WWDC keynote remained a software-only event. Interestingly, however, Apple lists "M1X MacBook Pro" as the tag for the WWDC keynote that was uploaded to YouTube. The tag, which was first spotted by Apple YouTuber Max Balzer on Twitter discovered<\/a> is among the other tags Apple added to the video, including iOS 15, M1X, iOS, Developer Conference, and more. Apple released the M1 silicon chip in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did Apple use the rumor mill for the ranking?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Speculation has suggested that the next chip expected in the redesigned MacBook Pros will be called "M1X." There are also reports that list the "M2." Be that as it may, the inclusion of the tag could indicate that Apple is indeed planning to call the upcoming processor "M1X." The notebooks are expected to have a new design with a flatter top and bottom and more ports, including the return of an HDMI port, SD card slot, and magnetic power cable. Rumors also suggest that the Touch Bar will be retired in favor of physical Fn keys.
