Rumors about new MacBook Pro models have been with us for many months. Now a well-known leaker has spoken out and revealed further details about the new Apple Silicon chip.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg<\/a> Apple plans to introduce new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with an improved iteration of the M1 chip as early as this summer. The new chip is expected to include a 10-core CPU with eight high-performance cores and two energy-efficient cores, with 16-core and 32-core GPU options. Gurman said the next-generation Apple Silicon chip will also support up to 64GB of memory, up from the current maximum of 16GB. This would be in line with the current Intel-based 16-inch MacBook Pro, which is available with up to 64GB of RAM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new chip is also said to support additional Thunderbolt ports for expanded connectivity. As mentioned in his previous reporting, Gurman said the new MacBook Pro models will have a redesigned chassis with the return of more ports, including an HDMI port, SD card slot, and a magnetic MagSafe charging cable. In addition, Gurman says Apple is also working on a redesigned MacBook Air as well as Mac mini, in addition to an all-new Mac Pro with up to 40 cores, a higher-end Mac mini, and a replacement for the Intel-based 27-inch iMac.
