Earlier this week, Apple introduced a brand new iPad Pro with a 12.9-inch XDR display. Now it's clear - buyers of the device will not be able to use the Magic Keyboard of the previous model.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As some have already noticed after the launch of the new iPad Pro, Apple listed the Magic Keyboard as "new", which led to speculation. Now it has been revealed that there is a change that has to do with the 0.5 mm thicker casing of the new iPad Pro. According to the French website iGeneration<\/a>, the thicker case means that the older model cannot be closed precisely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The problem is that once the Magic Keyboard is closed, it grips the tablet quite tightly. Apple didn't leave a millimeter of wiggle room because the accessory needs to hold the iPad in place. But with that half a millimeter more on the 2021 generation, this very precise adjustment may be problematic and the accessory had to be redesigned.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

While iGeneration saw confirmation of these details in the Apple Store documents this morning, the whole thing has now been officially confirmed by Apple. So anyone who wants to use the brand new iPad Pro 12.9\u2033 with a Magic Keyboard will have to buy a new version for around 399 euros. The 11-inch model remains unaffected.
