Apple today announced that the company is expanding its Independent Repair Provider program to more than 200 countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specifically, the \u201cIndependent Repair Provider Program\u201d is about Apple granting independent repair shops permission to repair iPhone devices outside of the warranty period. Cupertino wants to support this by providing original parts, repair manuals, diagnostic tools and more. Apple's Independent Repair Provider program will soon be available in more than 200 countries, nearly every country where Apple products are sold. Originally launched in 2019 and expanded to Europe and Canada last year, the program gives repair providers of all sizes access to genuine Apple parts, tools, repair manuals, and diagnostics to provide safe and reliable repairs for Apple products. There are now more than 1,500 Independent Repair Provider locations serving customers in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Apple: Certified technician required<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

According to Apple, there are more than 1,500 Independent Repair Provider locations in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Participation in the program is free, but repair providers must have an Apple-certified technician to perform the repairs. Apple says the certification process is "simple" and free. Once an employee becomes a certified technician, qualified repair providers can purchase genuine Apple parts and tools at the same price as AASPs. Starting later this week, repair providers in countries including Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tonga, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Vanuatu, and Vietnam can apply for the Independent Repair Provider Program.
