Apple today released a new support portal called Apple for Kids, which provides parents and guardians with a central place to set up and manage their children\u2019s use of Apple devices, services and platforms.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new portal ties into Apple's existing support page. The section at the top includes quick links for managing the family group and solving common problems, such as what to do if your child forgets their password or accidentally purchases something from the App Store. Further down is a Setup section that guides adults if they want to set up Family Sharing or set up a child on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac. It also describes how to set up an Apple Watch for a family member who doesn't have their own iPhone. Apple notes that if a child is under 13 and the Apple ID birth date is incorrect, a parent or guardian must contact Apple Support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The age limit for both promotions varies by country or region. Further down the page, adults can learn how Ask to Buy works. When Ask to Buy is enabled, children will receive permission from the designated Family Organizer before making a purchase. There are also links explaining how to locate missing devices with Find My and how to send Apple Cash to your children so they can use Apple Pay. The final subsection introduces ways to prevent children from making in-app purchases, set limits with screen time, and use parental controls on a child's device.
