Apple today launched a new Racial Equity and Justice Initiative section on its website, highlighting the company's long-term efforts.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a global technology and business leader, we have an urgent responsibility to dismantle systemic racism and increase opportunities for people who face it every day.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Last year, Apple donated $100 million to a new racial equity and justice initiative announced<\/a>to help break down systemic barriers to opportunity and combat injustices faced by communities of color. As part of this commitment, Apple is supporting the launch of an innovation and learning center in Atlanta for students enrolled at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), venture capital funding for Black and brown entrepreneurs, and more. Tim Cook commented:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We still have work to do to end systemic racism. Apple will be a force for change.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Cook also announced on Twitter that Apple is now accepting applications for its Impact Accelerator program, which is designed for companies that address environmental challenges and are led by black or brown people.
