Apple will soon introduce an important change in the area of advertising tracking. Now Facebook has contacted companies and informed them again about the upcoming situation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facebook continues to panic about the upcoming privacy changes in iOS 14. The company sent a new email to businesses today saying they have no choice but to comply with the iOS 14 App Tracking Transparency feature or Apple could remove Facebook from the App Store entirely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As first reported by iMore reported<\/a>, Facebook has sent out another round of emails to businesses informing them that while it disagrees with Apple's planned changes, it has no choice but to follow them. Facebook explains that App Tracking Transparency, which requires apps to obtain users' consent before tracking them across other websites and apps, "will have harsh implications for targeting, optimization, and measuring campaign effectiveness." The company also stated that it believes "personalized advertising and user privacy can coexist," which is also a claim Apple has made. The two companies clearly have different ideas about what constitutes "user privacy."<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Changes will be made under iOS 14.4<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Apple's requirement that all apps in the App Store display an App Tracking Transparency prompt to iOS 14 users will have serious implications for targeting, optimization, and measuring campaign effectiveness for companies advertising on mobile and the web. Apple's changes will benefit them while hurting the industry and the ability of companies of all sizes to effectively market themselves and grow through personalized advertising. We believe personalized advertising and protecting user privacy can coexist.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

In general, Facebook told companies that it had "no choice" but to follow Apple's rules. Otherwise, it threatened to be kicked out of the App Store.
