At the beginning of December, registered developers could apply for the App Store Small Business Program apply<\/a>Now Apple has started to confirm participation to qualified developers via email.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The App Store Small Business Program requires small businesses or independent developers to pay Apple just 15 percent instead of the 30 percent fee. The program is scheduled to start on January 1, 2021. The 15 percent fee applies to paid app purchases, in-app purchases, and subscription fees. In the announcement, Apple wrote:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be eligible to participate in the Program, you and your Associated Developer Accounts must not have generated more than $1 million in aggregate revenue (sales less Apple's commission and certain taxes and adjustments) during the 12 fiscal months that fall within the 2020 calendar year and must not have earned more than $1 million in the current year.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

App Store Small Business Program: The $1 Million Limit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Qualified developers had to apply<\/a>to participate in the program. Automatic admission is not planned. Now they have received a response. The email states:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We're excited to welcome you to the App Store Small Business Program. The commission rate on your paid apps and in-app purchases will be 15% starting January 1, 2021, so you can invest more resources in your business to continue building high-quality apps that customers love.<\/p>

Please remember:<\/p>

\u2013 If your revenue exceeds the $1 million threshold in 2021, the standard commission rate will apply for the remainder of the year.<\/p>

- If you initiate an App Transfer after December 31, 2020 or accept a transfer of an App initiated after December 31, 2020, you will no longer be eligible to participate in the Program.<\/p>
