Now the social media giant is striking again.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yesterday, Facebook launched a campaign in several newspapers, including the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Facebook wants to stand up for smaller companies and fight against Apple&#039;s planned anti-tracking policy. As reported by The Verge, today&#039;s campaign is titled &quot;Apple vs. the Free Internet&quot; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2020\/12\/17\/22180102\/facebook-new-newspaper-ad-apple-ios-14-privacy-prompt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in it<\/a> Facebook is quoted as saying:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Apple is planning to roll out a forced software update that will change the Internet as we know it \u2013 for the worse.<\/p><p>Take your favorite cooking sites or sports blogs. Most are free because they show ads.\u00a0<\/p><p>Apple&#039;s change will limit their ability to serve personalized advertising. To make ends meet, many will have to start charging subscription fees or adding more in-app purchases, making the internet much more expensive and reducing high-quality free content.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-facebook-bei-apple-geht-es-um-profit-nicht-um-privatsph-re\">Facebook: \u201cApple is about profit, not privacy\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Facebook claims that many small businesses have already said the change will be devastating for them. The social media giant has previously criticised the measures, saying it is about \u201cprofit, not privacy\u201d, and claims that Apple will force smaller businesses to charge people for subscriptions and in-app purchases while increasing Apple\u2019s own revenue streams. In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imore.com\/apple-responds-facebooks-attack-ad-says-users-deserve-privacy-choices\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Explanation<\/a> Apple responded to yesterday&#039;s advertising campaign to iMore with the words:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>We believe this is a simple matter of standing up for our users. Users should know when their data is being collected and shared with other apps and websites\u2014and they should have the choice to allow it or not. App Tracking Transparency in iOS 14 doesn&#039;t require Facebook to change its approach to tracking users and creating targeted ads, it just requires them to give users a choice.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Early next year, iOS 14 will be supported by apps <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apfelpatient.de\/en\/news\/advertising-tracking-apps-threaten-exclusion-from-the-app-store\">demand<\/a>that they obtain users&#039; consent to collect their random advertising identifier, which is used by advertisers to deliver and track personalized ads.
