Apple already announced new data protection requirements under iOS 14 at WWDC 2020. Now the company has announced that the new data protection label will soon be required in the App Store.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Apple, developers must further details<\/a> on data protection within their App Store product page. This means that developers must now disclose a kind of "nutritional labeling" of their applications. This should give consumers a better overview of an app's data protection practices. The new data protection resource describes several important categories to consider, such as data types, data usage, data linked to users, tracking, links to data protection and how to answer questions about app data protection. According to Apple, the goal is to better inform users about the data protection practices of individual applications. According to the company, the whole thing will be mandatory from December 8th.
