Apple has offered two-factor authentication since iOS 9, but many Apple ID users do not use the additional security level. In their opinion, the password is sufficient - but that is wrong.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The advantage of this method: If an unauthorized person finds out the password, they cannot use it alone to log into iCloud. They would also need a trustworthy device. Researchers at Indiana University have now discovered that only a few people use this security option. In an emergency, this could have dire consequences. The results of a study showed that hardly any of those surveyed had activated the additional security level.<\/p>\n\n

The reason for this is simply an absolutely "secure" password, according to those surveyed. Even technically experienced users who are familiar with this function do not use it.
\nA similar survey from 2017 even found that half of Americans didn't even know what two-factor authentication was.<\/p>\n

What is two-factor authentication?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Apple is now answering this question on its own YouTube channel and wants to encourage more users to activate this feature.<\/p>\n
