As more and more apps are moving to the subscription model, Apple is reminding developers that they will have access to new subscription offer codes in the App Store later this year. These codes will allow developers to offer special offers for app subscriptions, including free or discounted prices for auto-renewable subscriptions. Apple describes the new App Store subscription offer codes as &quot;unique, alphanumeric codes&quot; that make it easier to &quot;attract, retain and regain subscribers.&quot; The company explains that developers can use these codes to promote their apps online or even offline at physical events.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">iOS 14: \u201cAttract, retain and win back subscribers\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>To make the process of subscribing to an application in the App Store with an offer code available, Apple will provide a URL with a one-time code that will automatically redirect the user to the redemption option. A new API built into iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 will allow apps to offer a offer code to new or existing users. A subscription code can provide free access to a service during a certain period of time or a discount for a few months. Developers can also offer a special discount code for subscriptions when the user chooses to pay upfront, such as with a six-month or annual plan. Apple describes the new feature as <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/app-store\/subscriptions\/#providing-subscription-offers\" class=\"ek-link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\" class=\"ek-underline\">follows<\/span><\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Later this year, you&#039;ll be able to acquire, retain, and re-engage subscribers with subscription offer codes: unique, alphanumeric codes that offer free or discounted pricing on auto-renewable subscriptions. Make your one-time-use codes available digitally or offline at physical events, alongside products, and more.
