What's more important for a portable camera than being able to quickly capture unique moments? Apple says that with iOS 14, opening the Camera app and taking the first picture is up to 25% faster, while taking two or more pictures is 90% faster. On iPhones with Portrait mode, photos are taken up to 15% faster. These changes will be enabled automatically for all devices running iOS 14, so users don't need to change anything to benefit from these improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

iOS 14: Prioritize faster recordings and use "Louder" for series<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

While everyone can take pictures faster with iOS 14, the update includes a new option that makes this process even faster. With the Prioritize Quick Shots option available in the Settings app, the iPhone camera intelligently adjusts image processing when users press the shutter button quickly. iOS takes less time to enhance the shot and the user has a better chance of capturing a specific moment faster. Burst mode lets users take multiple photos in sequences, allowing them to choose between the best shots. In iOS 14, there is a new option that allows the volume up button to enable burst photos. The volume down button, on the other hand, is used for a quick-take picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

QuickTake and video format control<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The iPhone 11 models and the iPhone SE 2020 have QuickTake. The function allows you to quickly record videos in the camera app by simply holding down the shutter button. The video recording then starts. The feature was previously only available on the latest models. However, owners of an iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max can also use QuickTake under iOS 14. In addition, a control for the video format has also been integrated into the camera application. This means that users can select the video format via the camera. Until now, this was only possible via the settings - with the exception of the iPhone 11 series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

iOS 14: Mirror front camera<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When you take a selfie with your iPhone, you will notice that the photo you take is different from what you see in the live preview. This is because the camera app shows a mirrored preview. However, Apple has added an option called "Mirror front camera" to the new operating system. It can be enabled or disabled via the iOS settings in the Camera section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the new features mentioned above, a so-called exposure control has also been added. This allows you to set and lock the exposure level for all photos and videos. Night mode has also been improved as part of the update. Although the change is minimal, the result for night shots is a lot better. Specifically, it's about the gyroscope.
