The social media platform TikTok is currently the focus of many media outlets. While Trump is threatening to ban the service in the USA, Microsoft has shown interest in a takeover and confirmed negotiations. But Apple is also said to be considering a purchase \u2013 allegedly!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new report by Axios<\/span><\/a> According to reports, Apple has expressed "serious interest" in acquiring the video service TikTok. The news comes from the Axios Pro Rata newsletter from Dan Primack<\/span><\/a>The report explains that "multiple sources" have confirmed that Apple has expressed interest in a possible acquisition of TikTok. Multiple sources tell me that Apple has expressed interest, though no sources within Apple, and that at least one other strategic party has expressed interest. Yes, it would be an unusual deal for Apple, considering TikTok is a cross-platform application and poses a bigger political problem than Tim Cook might want (both here and in China). <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Microsoft is currently negotiating with TikTok's parent company ByteDance. It remains to be seen whether Apple is actually interested in a takeover and is examining the whole thing internally. The company has already denied the rumor through a spokesperson - but there are sources who are sticking to their statements. The whole thing would be unusual, however, as TikTok is also very popular on the Android market. According to Fox Business, Facebook and Google are also interested, but details are not known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TikTok: Trump threatens to ban<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

US President Donald Trump has already threatened to ban TikTok in the United States out of concern for national security. Specifically, Trump believes that the operators are selling user data to the Chinese government. ByteDance has already denied these allegations several times - but Trump does not accept them. Only a takeover by a US company could save the video service overseas. According to the current status, September 15 has been set as the deadline.
