Patents are regularly discovered that provide insight into Apple's world of ideas. They are exciting and promising, such as the latest one relating to the Apple Pencil.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now a new Apple patent has been discovered that describes a technology related to an Apple Pencil. It involves a sensor that can recognize colors. The patent states:Description<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A device such as a computer pen may have a color sensor. The color sensor may have a plurality of photodetectors, each measuring light for a different respective color channel. The color sensor may also have one or more light emitting devices. A control circuit may use the light emitting devices to illuminate an external object while using the photodetectors to measure the reflected light to determine the color of the external object. The electronic device may have a housing with an elongated shaft. The shaft may have a tip and an opposite end. The tip may be configured to emit electromagnetic signals that are detected by a touch sensor in a touch-sensitive display. The color sensor may be located at the end opposite the tip, it may be located at the tip, or it may be optically coupled to the tip using a light guide.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

An advanced technology with a future?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

So what exactly is Apple trying to tell us with this? Right. The Apple Pencil 3 could, for example, have a sensor that can use light to capture the color of an object in the real world. This could then be used in a drawing. Essentially, this would benefit the user, as they would no longer have to manually switch the color within a drawing application. All in all, this is a very advanced technology. The Apple Pencil 3 will certainly be released sooner or later, but what features it will ultimately offer remains to be seen.
