A number of useful features have been added to iOS 14. But one particularly cool feature is the picture-in-picture option. This allows you to watch videos or use FaceTime video calls while using another app.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The picture-in-picture function is definitely one of the cool new features in iOS 14. What was previously only possible on the iPad is now also possible on the iPhone. Everyone knows it - you watch a video and want to do something in another app. The result: the video is paused. FaceTime video calls are also paused when you switch to another app, so that only the sound continues to be transmitted. But the new iPhone operating system changes everything. How to use the picture-in-picture feature on the iPhone<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In the settings, under General, the option should be activated by default in the "Picture-in-Picture" section. All devices that have iOS 14 are supported. can perform<\/a>To start the feature, any app with a video function must be opened. Prerequisite: The app must of course support the feature. Currently, this would be the Apple TV app, Twitch or NTV and many more. As soon as the application has been opened and a video or live stream has been started in full-screen mode, the picture-in-picture function can be activated by returning to the home screen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video will now be played in a small separate window. This can be placed in any corner and resized. Users can now interact with other apps during playback. Does YouTube support the picture-in-picture function under iOS 14?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Clicking on the small X in the window closes the video. As already mentioned above, the feature can also be activated in the same way for FaceTime video calls. Since the new feature has been supported by iPads since 2015, there are now numerous applications that already support picture-in-picture. But YouTube is not one of the apps - at least not yet. There is a trick, however. If you want to watch a YouTube video with the picture-in-picture option, you have to start the video in Safari and activate full-screen mode. After returning to the home screen, the small window should appear. The app itself only plays the sound in the background if the user has subscribed to YouTube Premium for a fee. Whether the company will rethink its policy in the wake of iOS 14 remains questionable, however.
