The revelations surrounding iOS 14 continue. Now there is new information about features within the iMessage application as well as a new framework.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While 9to5mac has already revealed some features in iOS 14, new reports from MacRumors<\/a> published. According to this, Apple seems to be testing new functions within iMessage. But the US blog warns - the features could also appear in a later version or not at all. According to the leaked iOS 14 version, there should be a mention function like in WhatsApp. If the user wants to address a specific group member, they just have to put an @ in front of the name. Another feature is said to be the deletion of individual messages within the chat. Accordingly, users under iOS 14 could delete messages that have already been sent. In such a case, only a note would appear stating that a certain line had been deleted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Catalyst version of iMessage already revealed<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

But it remains unclear whether this function is linked to a time limit. Other new features include options in group chats that are already available in individual messages. This includes the ability to mark the last message in a conversation as unread after opening it and an extension of the "\/me" command for sharing status updates. Developer Steve Troughton-Smith discovered evidence of a Catalyst version of iMessage with exactly these features last year. Apple may update the revised application on all platforms this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developer framework called VoiceProvider discovered<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

In addition to the new iMessage features, a brand new developer framework called VoiceProvider was discovered. According to initial information, this is a way for developers to provide custom languages on iOS. Such an extension could be bundled with apps from the App Store and replace the standard voice. This would allow languages or dialects that Apple itself does not offer to be used. Using an API, the whole thing could also be extended to the HomePod.
