Apple first introduced and launched Swift Playgrounds for the iPad in 2016. Now the popular application has been released for macOS thanks to Catalyst.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Swift Playgrounds, Apple wants to teach every user the basics of the Swift programming language \u2013 no programming experience is required. Apple explains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swift Playgrounds is a groundbreaking app that makes learning to code and experimenting with code fun. Learn to Code lessons guide you through interactive puzzles while you learn the fundamentals of coding. You'll experiment with a variety of challenges that provide unique coding experiences.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Swift Playgrounds has a large collection of lessons created by Apple itself. Apple points out that with Swift Playgrounds, users can "learn the same powerful Swift programming language that professionals use to create thousands of applications." Now, thanks to Catalyst, the iPad application has been ported to macOS and optimized. This means that the app can be fully run on the Mac. The app is currently being rolled out, which is why it is not yet available to every user via search.
