This means you can be notified directly on your iPhone or iPad about new articles and breaking news \u2013 without needing an app from the App Store!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since Apple requires manual activation for this, this guide will show you how to activate push notifications for our web app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong> iPhone or iPad with iOS 16.4 or iPadOS 16.4 or later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-schritt-1-unsere-web-app-zum-homescreen-hinzufugen\">Step 1: Add our web app to your home screen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Open <strong>Safari<\/strong> on your iPhone or iPad.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visit our website: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apfelpatient.de\/en\">https:\/\/www.apfelpatient.de<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Good to know:<\/strong> Our articles and push notifications are available in German and English. The language is automatically adjusted based on your device settings \u2013 if your iPhone or iPad is set to German, you&#039;ll receive notifications in German, regardless of which link you use here. So you can use either version without hesitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Tap the <strong>share icon<\/strong> (square with an arrow pointing upwards).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Select <strong>\"Go to Home Screen\"<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Give the app a name (e.g., \"Apfelpatient\") and tap <strong>\"Add\"<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our web app now appears on your home screen like a normal app. It takes up minimal storage space \u2013 essentially, it works like a bookmark with app functionality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-schritt-2-push-benachrichtigungen-aktivieren\">Step 2: Enable push notifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After you add the app:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Open the web app <strong>directly from the home screen<\/strong> (not via Safari!).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">The first time you start the app, a message will appear: \"Do you want to allow notifications?\" \u2192 Tap <strong>\"Allow\"<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> The web app must always be opened via the icon on the home screen for push notifications to work.
